Availity’s Claim Submission tool allows providers to quickly submit electronic Professional (ANSI 837P) and facility, or Institutional (ANSI 837I) claims or encounters to Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL), at no cost. Use this online tool to submit a single claim or add to batch and send multiple claims to BCBSIL at the same time. Once submitted, you can confirm BCBSIL’s receipt of the claim(s) and check enhanced claim status in real-time, all within the Availity Essentials portal.
You must be registered with Availity to use the Claim Submission tool for electronic professional or institutional/facility claims. You can sign up today at Availity 
, at no charge. For registration assistance, call Availity Client Services at 800-282-4548. This Availity Essentials claim submission option does not require the use of a separate clearinghouse or practice management system.
How to access and use Availity’s Claim Submission tool:
- Log in to Availity
- Select Claims & Payments from the navigation menu
- Select Professional Claim or Facility Claim
- Within the tool, select your Organization, Claim Type, Payer and Responsibility Sequence
- Complete the required fields
