Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), dental coverage is free for children 18 and younger and optional for all adults. These dental plans are offered by the government when you enroll during Open Enrollment or with a qualifying life event. You can also enroll with BCBSIL if you need dental coverage in addition to your current plan.
Medicare plans are available to enroll in if you’re 65 or older or if you have a qualifying disability. Learn about Medicare, find out if you can enroll and understand how it works.
If you’re a contacts- or glasses-wearer, having vision insurance can help you save on eye care costs. With a vision plan, you’ll get savings that may help you pay for things like annual eye exams, lenses and frames and certain treatments.
You may also qualify for Medicaid or other help, like Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), based on your income. These health care plan options are offered by the government. There’s no enrollment period, so you can apply at any time.
